When I used to travel a lot for work, my intention was to always travel light. However, when I was packing, it always meant I was making a compromise on style and personal expression. I struggled to find shoes, clothing and luggage, and other travel accessories that were both versatile and practical. On the rare occasion I could find something to suit my practical needs, they always looked hideous.

As carry-on baggage regulations got more serious, so did the need for smart, stylish travel products. I wanted to create well-designed products with a higher sense of purpose. I knew I could combine quality materials with skilled craftsmanship to elevate the style and functionality of commonly used travel items, so I founded 4mnfunction.
